When Wind Decides Where Fire Goes: Ålesund Case
The Ålesund wildfire on March 18, 2026 made one thing clear: knowing regional wind speed is not the same as knowing where fire will spread next. Helicopters were grounded. Evacuation routes changed by the hour. The forecast said 11 m/s from the northwest, but it said nothing about the corridors where wind doubled in speed, or the sheltered pockets meters away. That gap between forecast and reality is where wildfires become uncontrollable. ArchiWind Live closes it, with hourly CFD simulations at site level, on real terrain, with real meteorological data.
